Battle Creek has authority to administer 740 Vouchers.  We have three full time staff persons responsible for administering these vouchers including intake, recerts, waiting list, orientations, fraud recovery; everything but inspections, inspection audits and hearings.

For those that administer a similar sized program with a similar scope of responsibilities, does this number of vouchers, approx 250 per staff person seem reasonable?

We currently have 572 vouchers and we have 2 people doing the work. they are busy but not overloaded. That would be 286 per person. I would say that 300 each would be the capacity of my staff to administer vouchers

We have 1483 vouchers allocated and about 1390 utilized. We have a Voucher Manager, and Intake Specialist and 5 caseworkers that split the cases between them. They also have about .25 FTE assistance from an administrative assistant. We have also used temporary help and interns to catch up on paperwork.
