Presents:

Integrated Pest Management for MI NAHRO:

Pest Management for Housing Properties

Online Training

Tuesday August 4 thru Thursday August 6

9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. each day

Hosted by:

Pest control is one of property managers least favorite but most important duties for providing safe and healthy housing. Luckily there are techniques that work better and can be less costly and less toxic to tenants and staff. StopPests, a HUD-supported program, is collaborating with Elevate Energy’s Ruth Kerzee, a public health  and  pest  control  professional  with  over  15  years  pest  control  experience, to  provide  state -of- the- art  information  on  how  to  put  in   place   a   comprehensive   integrated pest management program. The most effective and least toxic control methods for cockroaches, bed bugs, and rodents, identified as the three major pests of housing, will be addressed in this workshop. Our goal is that you leave with the skills to:

  • Identify management's role in support of the least toxic, most effective measures for pest control;
  • Manage pests in housing with techniques that pose less risk to vulnerable populations;
  • Connect the health risks pests pose, such as asthma, with the need for effective, least toxic control of cockroaches and mice;
  • Control pests better by understanding their biology and behaviors;
  • Identify least toxic control measures for each of the pests discussed; and
  • Communicate pest control problems effectively and know where to turn for help.

Join us for this comprehensive overview of integrated pest management (IPM) in housing and get on the road to better, healthier pest control now. Simple steps can make a big difference and help maximize the positive impact of your limited pest control budget.
